Endgame Beats Infinity War for Biggest Box Office Opening Ever with $350M

Avengers: Endgame was able to exceed initial estimates in order to destroy the record of the highest brutal first weekend in North American history. The film could easily yield $ 350 million, destroying the previous record held last year, Infinity War which had raised $ 257.6 million during its opening weekend. If that was not enough, Endgame was able to win more than a billion dollars worldwide, breaking the first international record at the box office. The film easily took first place this weekend.

Avengers: Endgame also helped make the national box office as a whole, all films raising $ 397 million for the weekend. The previous record for a cumulative weekend was $ 314 million. In addition to breaking all these records, the Marvel Cinematic Universe film also allowed Captain Marvel to return to second place this weekend with an additional $ 8 million. Last week, Carol Danvers' self-contained film was at number four. Outside the MCU, the horror film The Curse of La Llorona was able to bring in $ 7.5 million, enough to occupy third place.

Drama Breakthrough $ 6.3 million, which was more than enough to win the number four box office this weekend. As for number five, this honor is Shazam! from DC after raising an additional $ 5.5 million. To date, the superhero movie has brought in nearly $ 350 million worldwide. DC's project has been a steady source of revenue at the box office since its inception four weeks ago.
