Hobbs & Shaw Are the Best of Frenemies in 5 New Sneak Peek Videos

Universal hit the nos in Hobbs & Shaw's action sequences. The studio has released new clips and behind-the-scenes footage for the spin-off to prove it. The clips feature the newcomer of the race racing franchise, Idris Elba ( The Avengers: The War Against the Infinite ) as a cyber-genetically enhanced villain, Brixton. The Elbe character is facing Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), one of our allies who have just stood out in the new sequence.

In the first clip, Brixton unfolds easily. the side of a skyscraper with Vanessa Kirby ( Mission Impossible-Fallout ) Hattie leaned over his shoulders and two armed men on each side. Hobbs and Shaw staring at them from the broken window. Hobbs, in the spirit of Johnson's glorious opening sequence The Other Guys leaps after him. Shaw takes the elevator. Hobbs lands on the shooter and redirects the bullets to the glass. Shaw stands behind, comforting the fact that when you're in a film Fast & Furious you do not take a lift.

The need for extreme disbelief is not new in the Fast & Furious but director David Leitch ( Deadpool 2 ) has a very long experience in choreography of fights and waterfalls. Leitch worked as a coordinator on such films as Jupiter Ascending and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and performed stunts and choreographies for other films, totaling 82 credits IMDB. He had this to say behind the scenes of the scene.

"It is difficult for me not to stand in front of and to read physical lines."

He did not approach the hand closely. That does not seem to bother the actors who said that their mantra was "In David Leitch, we trust." It's a good thing they did it because the other footage was showing Marvel level technology. While Hobbs and Shaw have their usual sarcastic joke in an expensive car, Brixton pursues them on a motorcycle. Shaw explains that he killed their enemy by "putting a bullet in his head", but that did not seem to stay. When they arrive at an intersection, Shaw takes the famous movement of the first film Fast and Furious by easily passing under a semi truck. Brixton, close behind, leaves his motorcycle in motion. The bike flattens and drives Brixton as he sneaks under two trucks. Once free, it returns to normal with the sound effects of Transformers and the chase continues.

This will be the first spin-off of the lucrative franchise of Universal. We reported that the last installment, The Fate of the Furious opened worldwide for $ 542 million, including $ 443 million from the international count alone. Although the projections do not place the film Johnson and Statham in this range, the recent clips show that they do not slow down so early. As Johnson said.

"The action is the heart of the film and David Leach is one of the best in Hollywood."

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is written by Chris Morgan and Drew Pierce ( Iron Man 3 ). It will be released in theaters on August 2nd. Check with us for your front cover. These clips and excerpts all come directly from Universal Pictures.
