Jackie Chan Vs. Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Ultimate Fight
Signature Entertainment gave action movie fans a little gift today in the form of a new trailer for The Iron Mask . This film underwent several title changes and was long and complicated to release. But none of this really matters. The main attraction is still as desirable as ever, as this film will feature Jackie Chan ( Police Story Rush Hour ) fighting Arnold Schwarzenegger ( The Terminator Predator ) on screen for the first time. Two of the most legendary action heroes in cinema go hand in hand, which alone would be enough. Fortunately, this film also has a lot of other things, as evidenced by the trailer.
This is actually a sequel to 2014 Forbidden Empire alias Viy . It had several titles during its release, such as Viy 2: Journey to China and The Mystery of Dragon Seal . The title, however, is somewhat irrelevant, as this trailer has so much going on that it's hard to worry about its name. We start in an old prison, where the character of Jackie Chan was arrested. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is in the uniform of a British military officer, in addition to rocking a fairly glorious mustache, is responsible for keeping him there. Rather delightfully, Schwarzenegger does not attempt to sound British. As the great Ken Watanabe said; let them fight.
We have a glimpse of the two duks and, as with any fight by Jackie Chan, it looks awesome. But this is just the tip of the iceberg with this film. As the images advance, we see the massive CGI landscapes and get an idea of the scale, which is quite large. In addition, there is a huge dragon in it, which is something. Chan and Schwarzenegger only appeared in another film together, Around the World in 80 Days and they had precisely no combat scene between them. So regardless of what's going on here, this long overdue battle should be worth the price of admission.
The iron mask took place during the 18th century and focused on the English traveler Jonathan Green during his travels from Russia to China. During his journey, he meets dragons, dark magic and a dragon king on an incredible but deadly adventure. Actors also include Jason Flemyng ( X-Men: First Class ), Charles Dance ( Game of Thrones ) and the late Rutger Hauer ( Blade Runner ) in the & One of his last roles on screen.
The film, directed by Oleg Stepchenko, was released last year in China and Russia. Fortunately, the rest of the world will be able to see it fairly quickly. It is expected to hit theaters in the UK on April 10 and will be available via On Demand at that time also through Signature Entertainment. Don't forget to check out the new trailer for yourself.
