Marvel’s Shang-Chi Movie Gets Short Term 12 Director

Marvel found his director for Shang-Chi. We learned about the existence of this project at the end of last year and, although Marvel Studios has not officially announced its existence, it seems to be meeting quite well behind the scenes. We now know that the director Destin Daniel is called to lead the project, which will see him become the first Asian filmmaker to direct a film in the film universe Marvel and focus on an Asian protagonist, another first.

According to a new report, Destin Daniel, known for his previous work on films like Short Term 12 and The Glass Castle was locked to direct Shang-Chi . He will work according to a script written by Dave Callaham, which was revealed at the first news of this project in December. Callaham, also American of Asian origin, has already worked on Wonder Woman 1984 Zombieland 2 The Expendables and the films of 2014 Godzilla . Sony also appealed to him Spider-Man: Towards the Spider-Verse 2 . Needless to say, the man has the knack for franchises.

As for Destin Daniel, this will put him in the realm of blockbuster production. His previous efforts were well respected, but he had never made the slightest breach of a big budget tentpole before. He is currently working on his last effort Just Mercy which stars BU Larson ( captain) and Marvel as well as Michael B. Jordan ( Black Panther ). Marvel seeks to take a lesson or two of Black Panther on this one. This film grossed $ 1.3 billion at the box office, on the way for an Oscar nomination for best film and three Oscar wins. Spectators are not just ready to embrace diverse voices in front of and behind the camera, because they are really hungry. Shang-Chi has the ability to tap into an under-served demographic.

Shang-Chi for those who may not be familiar, is a master of martial arts who was introduced to the pages of Marvel Comics in 1973 in Special Edition Marvel # 15. The character finally received his own series and is often called the Kung Fu Master. Shang-Chi was created by writer Steve Englehart and the legendary artist Jim Starlin. He is the son of Fu Manchu, who trains his son in martial arts. However, it is finally revealed that his father is perverted, resulting in a conflict between them.

Currently, Marvel keeps their projects beyond . Avengers: Endgame remains very secretive. We know that a film Black Widow The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Eternals are all in development, alongside suites like Doctor Strange 2 and Black Panther 2 but most of what is goes into the future The next few years remain mysterious. But it seems like we're getting a new kind of potentially very exciting hero. It is not yet known how long production could start, but we will keep you informed as soon as further details on the project become available. This news has been reported for the first time by Deadline.
