Netflix’s The Perfection Trailer Sends Allison Williams Down a Sinister Path
Netflix released the first trailer of The Perfection . Allison Williams plays and seems to channel some of her character from Rose Armitage into Get Out of Jordan Peele in the upcoming horror film. The project was directed by Richard Shepard, from a screenplay by Shepard, Nicole Snyder and Eric C. Charmelo. Shephard made several episodes of Girls . He and Williams had good working relationships before moving on to The Perfection .
. The Perfection was presented for the first time at the Fantastic Festival last year and was one of the most discussed films in its debut at the event . The film is an elegant and terrifying thriller filled with unexpected twists. When the troubled musical prodigy Charlotte (Allison Williams) searches for Elizabeth (Logan Browning), the new star student of her old school, the encounter engages the two musicians on a sinister path with shocking consequences. The trailer teases these elements while adding a subtle body horror and dark humor.
Netflix acquired The Perfection after the launch of Fantastic Fest and is set to release the horror film on May 24. Right now, the trailer is intense and almost too difficult to take, which suggests that the film will be just as fast and thrilling. However, early reviews of the movie reveal that there is a lot more going on beneath the surface than we originally thought and that the pace is not as fast as suggested by the trailer. That being said, The Perfection is one of the movies you want to know less before you sit down to enjoy it. Allison Williams had this to say about her upcoming project.
"If you stopped the movie every 20 minutes and were asked what it was talking about or what will happen, you'd be wrong – until the movie is finished. "
Perfection Director Richard Shepard likens the project to that of Brian De Palma Dressed to Kill and as films with a "B-film attitude" dressed in "A-film aesthetics." Allison Williams says: "people pretend to be one thing, but continue to live another life", trying to be as vague as possible by describing The Perfection . Shepard has some other movies to watch before watching her latest movie. He explains.
"I am a big fan of Korean director Chan-wook Park and his suspenseful horror films Oldboy and The Handmaiden . has so many zany twists, yet they make sense because they're centered on the characters, I really wanted to try this in an American movie. "
There are surely comparisons with Get Out but we only watch the trailer here. In addition, Jordan Peele included a scene with an arm full of cut cockroaches. The Perfection lives up to Allison Williams, who seems to be a must for any horror fan. You can watch the trailer below through the Netflix YouTube channel.
