The New Mutants Trailer Arrives, the Long-Lost X-Men Horror Movie Is Here

After years of waiting, 20th Century Fox has released a new trailer for The New Mutants . It is the last film to feature mutants from the world of Marvel Comics and serves as the spin-off of the main Fox franchise X-Men . Originally, it was to be released almost two years ago, but production delays, creative differences, and the Disney / Fox merger made matters more difficult. Now, however, we have a fresh take on the horror-centric film that will finally make its way to theaters this year. Except for another unpredictable setback, that is to say.

Believe it or not, the first trailer for New Mutants arrived online in October 2017. At this point, it was supposed to arrive in April 2018 and was eventually to launch a new solo franchise in the larger universe X-Men for Fox. Director Josh Boone, who had just emerged from his hit YA The Fault in Our Stars was chosen to direct and had plans for an entire trilogy. It now seems to be a stretch, as it seems like a small miracle that this first installment is being published. But strange things have happened.

Shortly after the release of the first trailer, the release date for New Mutants was delayed. Various reports have noted that Fox and Josh Boone disagreed on the cut and that major new shots would take place. However, it was also reported that it was difficult to bring the actors together for said shootings, which complicated matters. Both Boone and Fox remained silent on the matter in public. Recently, Boone suggested that his original vision for the comic book adaptation is intact, suggesting that all of this waiting may have been a big puff of smoke.

For those who may not be familiar, The New Mutants appeared for the first time in the pages of Marvel Comics in 1982. The group has was co-created by comic book legends Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod. It is a group of mutant adolescents who are still in training. This group somewhat overlaps the core X-Men team. At least in the comics. The cast is composed of Anya Taylor-Joy ( Glass ) as Magik, Maisie Williams ( Game of Thrones ) as Wolfsbane, Henry Zaga ( Teen Wolf ) Sunspot, Charlie Heaton ( Stranger Things ) like Cannonball, Blu Hunt ( The Originals ) like Mirage and Alice Braga ( I Am Legend ) like Cecilia Reyes.
