Vivarium Trailer Traps Imogen Poots and Jesse Eisenberg in a Suburban Nightmare

Saban Films has released a new trailer for Vivarium . The film stars Jesse Eisenberg and Imogen Poots, who have already worked together on the gem under the radar last year The Art of Self-Defense . This time around, they seem to be walking in bizarre waters once again, as it seems to be a unique and strange little thriller, which seems to be comfortable in the universe Black Mirror .

The trailer starts showing us the image of a happy couple (ish) looking at a possible new house in a seemingly picturesque subdivision. Everything is very precise, with little to no variation from house to house. Jesse Eisenberg and Imogen Poots find themselves unknowingly trapped in the neighborhood after deciding that the house they are showing is not for them. Whether they like it or not, they are forced to accept domestic life, whether they like it or not. There's a pretty interesting twist towards the end of the trailer for good measure. Overall, it sounds like a unique little fantasy / thriller with a touch of horror.

Lorcan Finnegan is in the director's chair for this one. Finnegan had previously directed the 1945 film Unnamed . The script was filmed by Garret Shanley, who also worked with Finnegan on Unnamed . Shanley also wrote The Realm Beyond Reason . Jesse Eisenberg recently appeared in Zombieland: Double Tap the long-awaited sequel to 2009 Zombieland . Imogen Poots was last seen in the remake of Blumhouse Black Christmas which hit theaters in December. Eisenberg also has Resistance in the books for 2020, while Poots plays in the television series I know it's true .

Vivarium focuses on a couple, Tom and Gemma (Jesse Eisenberg and Imogen Poots), who are looking for the perfect home. A mysterious real estate agent takes them to Yonder, a strange suburban neighborhood full of identical houses. Tom and Gemma decide to leave fairly quickly, but when they try to leave the labyrinth-like subdivision, each road brings them back to the same place, the house they didn't want. They soon discover that their search for a dream home has placed them at the heart of a veritable nightmare.

In addition to the trailer, a new poster has also been revealed that perfectly teases the premises of the film and comes with the slogan, "You are home forever." The film made its Cannes debut last year and critics have been quite kind to it so far, as it currently enjoys an 87% approval rate on Rotten Tomatoes. The cast also includes Jonathan Aris ( Dracula The end of the world F ***** g ), Danielle Ryan ( Professionals Jen ), Senan Jennings ( Dave Allen at Peace Royally Ever After ) and Eanna Hardwicke ( The Eclipse Krypton ). Vivarium has no release date yet, but it should arrive this year from Saban Films. Don't forget to check out the new trailer and poster for yourself.
