What Will It Take for Endgame Directors to Do Another Marvel Movie?
The Russo brothers are confident that they will be able to work with Marvel Studios again. After the epic success of Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame the director duo stops working with Marvel to focus on smaller projects. They are currently promoting their latest film Mosul shot entirely in Arabic and quite far from the Marvel film universe. That said, the film's story was presented to the Russos by Avengers co-writer Endgame Stephen McFeely. But what would excite the directors enough to return to Marvel Studios?
Joe and Anthony Russo say they are very lucky about the work they have done with Marvel Studios. "We love the level of filming that Marvel offered us," said Anthony. He also stated that he and his brother would return to switching between major films like MCU projects and smaller ones, as Mosul . Joe had this to say about what could bring them back to Marvel.
"I grew up on [John] Byrne's X-Men race.Ben Grimm was a favorite character growing up, The Thing.and The Fantastic Four are now part from the Marvel group, there's a lot of them, Silver Surfer is an amazing character, and growing up in the cosmic universe would be a lot of fun, so there are a lot of things that could attract us. "
The Russo brothers had already talked about their intention to return to Marvel Studios for a potential film on secret wars, which would be huge. When it comes to taking more projects with Marvel, the filmmakers will most likely go back to creating epic movies instead of doing something for the Disney + streaming platform. Joe Russo said this about his love of big projects.
"I think that after the trip we undertook, because there is a complete narrative, a global story taken from Winter Soldier until the end of Endgame in which Tony and Cape participate, up to Civil War until Infinite War – I think about this magnitude of ambition in storytelling, it's a bug that touches us a little bit.And we are obliged to tell more stories of this magnitude, with this ambition that has been going on for years. "
Joe Russo also talked about how close Anthony is with the entire Marvel Studios team. Kevin Feige, Louis D 'Esposito and Victoria Alonzo are part of the Russo family. "We are all very close to each other, and we miss each other," said Joe laughing. He went on to say, "So, I'm sure we'll find something we can do together soon." This will more than likely be good news for fans of the Russo brothers and their work with Marvel.
The Russo brothers proved that they could fight each other very well in the MCU, so it will be very interesting to see where they are next and with what characters they work. At the moment, there is a lot of hope and the films of phase 5 will be revealed in the coming years. So we could see the Russo sooner than expected. The interview with the Russo brothers was originally performed by SyFy.
