Why Avengers 5 Wasn’t Announced at Comic-Con According to Kevin Feige
Marvel Studios Destroyed the Roof of San Diego's Comic-Con Last Night by Unveiling Their Huge Phase 4 Slate , which includes a movies and TV shows. But, to the surprise of some, a fifth film of the Avengers was not announced as part of the future of the studio. However, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige explained why, and his reasoning makes a lot of sense.
In an interview that followed Marvel Hall H's panel at SDCC, Kevin Feige was specifically asked about the absence of a Title Avengers being included in the announcement of phase 4. According to Feige, this is because Avengers: Endgame has served as a conclusion to many of these character arcs, while at the same time revealing that the next phase of the MCU is about many new beginnings. Here's what Kevin Feige had to say about it.
"We had a film this year titled Avengers: Endgame, and it's really an end, as you've seen, for a lot of these characters." So Phase 4 Phase 4 involves learning new things about characters you already think you know, like Black Widow, meet incredible new characters such as The Eternals and Shang-Chi, pursue new adventures with Doctor Strange and Thor, and these Disney + shows.I promise that it will be spectacular and that no one will expect it. "
This is a reasonable explanation. Avengers: The final phase was presented as a conclusion of the entire MCU arc up to this point. The character arches of Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Black Widow and others have been completed. As such, it would make no sense to make another Avengers movie, at least not with this iteration of the franchise. But that does not mean that a new iteration could not appear in the future. That just will not be in phase 4.
It should also be mentioned that Kevin Feige specified that Phase 4 included only what would be broadcast until 2021. This includes the movies Eternals Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Black Widow Strange Doctor in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and thunder . It also includes Disney + shows The Falcon and the Winter Soldier WandaVision Hawkeye Loki and What if? . Projects such as Blade Black Panther 2 Captain Marvel 2 and Restarts of Fantastic Four and X-Men will have to wait for phase 5.

It's totally possible that phase 5, which will begin in 2022, could involve a new team. Maybe the new Avengers? Maybe the Dark Avengers? Or maybe even something like the Young Avengers or the West Coast Avengers? It is certainly possible to continue to evolve this aspect in the future. But for now, it's about getting out of the past. And even if Avengers: Endgame is the latest Avengers movie, it will become the most profitable movie of all time. What could serve as a more appropriate end?
